Corporate Values

Development of new corporate values and working principles

As part of a strategic realignment, the management board of an international chemical company decided to give the company a new direction with new corporate values.

Challenge

As is often the case in technology-heavy companies, there is considerable skepticism among the workforce about issues such as corporate values and working principles. In addition, there was a long history and a variety of competing approaches.

Approach

Focus groups and targeted interviews were used to first take stock of the existing culture and gather ideas for a target culture. A key point, however, was the establishment of a broad-based team that designed a connectable concept for the corporate values in various loops with feedback to the employees. With extensive communication and employee participation, the new values were then carried into the company.

Result

Today, a few years later, the values are deeply anchored and are applied in all team workshops. They are also used in the context of personnel development, selection and promotion.
